Hello Eliot

I'm so excited to be returning to the community this year! I'm a third-year PhD at the Economics department (joint with Harvard Business School), and my research interests currently span behavioural & public economics, focusing mostly on education and social mobility. I am particularly interested in the impacts of digital technologies and data privacy on both. Prior to grad school, I was basking in the Californian sunshine (Stanford '19) and worked as a management consultant in London whilst taking a novel-writing class (Faber Academy '20). I also have work experience in the public sector (Ministry of Education/Finance Singapore), in investment, and in international development organisations like the World Bank, and would be more than happy to talk about those experiences! Come write, cook and bake (my specialty is a lemon sabayon tart with a Singaporean twist), throw clay round a wheel, drink tea, listen to jazz, take pictures (on a janky old film camera), refurbish old furniture, and dance tango with me this year! I've lived/studied/worked in Shanghai, Singapore, London, Oxford, DC, Stanford, and Amsterdam, but Cambridge (MA) is steadily becoming "home" -- I can't wait to create a "home" at Eliot with all of you this year!
